The approximately 150 visitors were impressed.<\/p>\n

The Thurgau Youth Orchestra is a wonderfully active ensemble. What the young musicians between the ages of ten and 28 achieve here is both pleasing and surprising. Early on Sunday evening, the overture “Egmont” Opus 84 by Ludwig van Beethoven rang out in the Protestant church in Steckborn with a wonderfully springy sound. The fanfares announced the triumph.<\/p>\n

The spring concert, which was attended by around 150 people, was opened by Seth Quistad, the 44-year-old solo trombonist of the Tonhalle Zurich. The soloist performed the trombone concerto Opus 4 by Ferdinand David together with the 57 musicians of the youth orchestra. The playing seemed easy and natural. And then, with Symphony No. 4 in E minor Opus 98 by Johannes Brahms, lyrical natural moods as well as jubilant upswings full of symphonic tension are achieved.<\/p>\n
