“All the musical skills are already there,” says a visitor in the audience. Like many listeners, she is surprised by the solo part of the 15-year-old cellist Louis Hirst from Aadorf. This Thurgau musical talent should be promoted, whispers another visitor. The listeners are emotionally moved. As enthusiastic as the audience is, the cantonal student Hirst, who is training in classical music, is so modest in his performance.<\/p>\n

The young soloist has been taking music lessons since 2011 and has been playing in the Thurgau Youth Orchestra since he was nine. He has won first prize in music competitions several times. The performances of the Thurgau Youth Orchestra are also impressive.<\/p>\n

Hub for talent development<\/span><\/h3>\n

Gabriel Estarellas Pascual is the artistic director of the youth orchestra, which places value on social and artistic education. The orchestra is known as a hub for talent development for young string, wind and percussion players. Particularly talented orchestra members have the opportunity to perform solo at every concert.<\/p>\n
