Brilliant performance

The Thurgau Youth Orchestra gave a concert in Romanshorn on Sunday evening. What the young musicians offered with Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Dvorák’s “Ninth” was top class.

Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor and Antonin Dvorák’s 9th Symphony “From the New World” are considered romantic showpieces for both the piano and the orchestra. Well-known and popular with the audience, they are a guarantee for a good concert attendance – and therefore difficult to play. Because what everyone knows is also listened to critically by many. Youth or homeland bonus notwithstanding. And that was a good thing, because in the Protestant church it was all about art.
