Sometimes lyrical, sometimes bacchanalian Beethoven

The Thurgau Youth Orchestra will be performing a pure Beethoven program until the beginning of October. At the premiere, the audience was enthusiastic about the performance of the demanding pieces.

The Thurgau Youth Orchestra, under the musical direction of Gabriel Estarellas Pascual, has never shied away from the big chunks of classical music. This is no different at the current Beethoven evening, which consists of the Violin Concerto in D major and the Seventh Symphony. Two works that are well known, but are feared by performers above all because of the technical difficulties. Both require a high level of concentration and skill, but at the same time leave little room for both the soloist and the orchestra to shine. Anyone who “subjects themselves” to this combination as a performer is truly concerned with the music itself.
